Thank you for expressing an interest in the ARTIST’S CIRCLE at Ross Road Church. Our hope is to provide a venue for Christian artists that will be a catalyst for meaningful connections. Our aim is to build up the body of Christ through art.
Participants
Artists of all ages and all art forms are welcome. Each night will feature speakers, singers, and numerous visual artists. Presenters, please time your presentations beforehand to stay within the allotted times.
- Spoken word presentation = 5 minutes
- Performing arts presentation = 15 minutes
Timetable
Every third Saturday from 7-9. Doors open at 6:30
Set up is from 3-4 on Saturday afternoon. Sound checks from 6-6:30.
Evening Schedule
The evening is divided into three segments. Each segment with readings, performances, and an intermission to get a coffee, mingle, and view the art displays. The readings and music take place in the sanctuary with a full sound system, stage, and lighting. (With air conditioning)
Visual Art Information
Art is displayed around the perimeter of the foyer on 5 x 8 black panels lit by spotlights. Tables are also available. Display cards that briefly explain the concept behind the art pieces are encouraged. (We also hope that artists will be on-hand to answer questions.) The church has asked that the art remain on display for their Sunday morning service so take down is during office hours (8:30 – 4:00) on the following Monday.
Sales
Sales are not permitted, but a table is provided for artists to leave contact info for those wanting to purchase or connect at a later date.
Safeguarding Copyright
Any artist should feel free to exercise their artistic control if they do not want their work photographed or recorded. Signs posted to this effect are welcome.
Content Guidelines
This is an all ages event and so the presentations must be family friendly and non-political.
Video Format
If your presentation includes video content the video files must be submitted ahead of time and be in the one of the following formats: .mov, .m4v, MPEG. We are not able to play videos from YouTube in our presentation software so we need the actual files.
